尊敬的人大附中老师们、可爱的艺术团少儿艺术家们，尊敬的各位来宾，各位记者朋友，女士们、先生们，大家晚上好！

值此春节来临之即，我们很荣幸地迎来了中国人民大学附属中学艺术团的老师和少儿艺术家们。首先，我谨代表驻休斯敦总领事馆对各位的到来表示热烈的欢迎和诚挚的谢意！来到我们领馆，就是来到你们的家。

我们已经从近几天的国内外新闻报道中，了解到你们一路在纽约、波士顿、芝加哥、明尼苏达的演出，取得了巨大的成功，受到美国朋友、华人华侨的热烈欢迎。你们充满活力、青春亮丽、热情欢快的舞蹈表演，征服了观众，为学校增添了光彩，为国家争得了荣誉；你们跨越大洋，奔波异国他乡，增进了解，传播友谊。你们的演出不仅介绍和宣传了中国传统春节品牌文化，为美国朋友带来了的精彩绝伦的艺术享受，而且也为促进中美两国之间的文化交流和中美人民友好关系作出了一份特殊的贡献，你们是当之无愧的“友谊小使者”。

艺术团一路上辗转奔波，时间长、跨度大，一定要注意劳逸结合。近几周，休斯敦地区阴雨连绵，昼夜气温起伏较大，希望大家保重身体，在紧张的演出之间，我馆文化组为大家安排了一些放松心情的参观游览项目，当地赞助商为大家安排了中西搭配、美味可口的饭菜，寄宿家庭也为大家提供了家庭般温暖的休息场所和美国朋友式的热情款待。我们预祝艺术团在得州8天的访问演出取得圆满成功，预祝艺术团的老师们和孩子们度过一个愉快的得州之旅。

在此，我也要特别感谢我们休斯敦地区的各个接待单位：美中人民友好协会、寄宿家庭、美南友联商会的赞助商、百利高中、表演与视觉艺术高中、克莱蒙高中和科尔特小学，正是你们的热情好助和不懈努力，才使人大附中艺术团得以来到我们得州演出。再次感谢你们的协作和大力支持。谢谢！

Dear teachers, students of High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China,
Distinguished guests, host families and sponsors,
Friends from local press,
Ladies and gentlemen,

Good evening!

I am very much pleased to host the reception in honor of the Art Ensemble of Renmin University of China High School. First of all, please allow me, on behalf of the Consulate General of People’s Republic of China and also in my and my wife` own name, to extend heartfelt welcome and cordial greetings to all the high school teachers and students and everyone present tonight. Welcome to Houston and welcome to our residence.　

Chinese New Year is the oldest and most important festival in Chinese calendar. To improve relations and introduce Chinese Spring Festival culture to American friends, China Ministry of Culture sends these young artists to the United States. Let me have some words to introduce these beautiful, young Chinese artists. They are from Renmin University of China High School. As one of the top high schools in China, it has received international recognition for its quality and innovation. These young students are not professional dancers, but they perform professionally. Despite of their average age at 15, they have visited and performed in nearly 20 cities in Russia, France, US. Wherever they go, they are warmly welcomed. This year, they just visited New York, Boston, Chicago and Minnesota, they will also go to Dallas and Los Angeles.

Art is common language of human being. I believe the Art Ensemble’s visit not only exchanges our students artistic talent, but also make a precious opportunity to promote our cultural exchange and China-US friendship.

I’d like to take this opportunity to pay particular tribute to US-China People`s Friendship Association, host families, local sponsors, Bellaire High School, High School of Performing and Visual Arts, Clements High School and Kolter Elementary School. It is you and your efforts to make the Art Ensemble`s visit possible.

I wish you all a happy and warm Chinese Spring Festival. Hope you all enjoy this evening. Thank you!
