TWELVE MIGHTYONARCHES |
Usually 120" long and 36" wide, it took the artist an immense period of time to design and paint. The twelve tigers represent the 12 two-hour periods into which the day was traditionally divided, each tiger named after the 12 Earthy Branches. Note: Prestige is the fundamental element of a gentleman. Prestige cannot last when trust is bought by power, but prestige can last with the gentleman when power is bought by trust. A tiger's might is based on its appearance, but people's might is based on their trust. The twelve mighty tiger picture portrays the idea that a gentleman maintains his prestige through his trust. Although individually different in appearance, they all seem alive and active and their eyes full of power and life. |
